AASCU STATEMENT ON GOV. DEAL'S VETO OF GUNS ON CAMPUS

"Governor Deal’s decision to veto legislation that would have allowed guns on Georgia’s public college and university campuses is a wise decision that will keep students and other members of the campus community safe. This bill would have allowed guns to be carried almost everywhere on campus, including classrooms, child care facilities and concert halls. The vast majority of Georgia students opposed this bill, and we applaud Gov. Deal for listening to their voices."
