• Webinars Help Members Gain Strategies for Integrating Japan Studies Into Courses and Programming

While AASCU canceled the in-person Japan Studies Institute (JSI) traditionally held at San Diego State University, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the association hosted a five-part webinar series for members to learn how to integrate information and resources about Japan into their courses and student engagement programming.

Between 37–65 people attended each of the webinars, which took place in May. Webinar topics included education in Japan and developing academic partnerships and other exchange opportunities in Japan.

JSI webinar recordings and resources can be found here. This series will serve as a model for forthcoming webinars focused on other world regions and global issues designed to appeal to AASCU member institutions’ faculty. Registration is open for the 2020 China Studies Institute Webinar Series that began this month and will run through October 8.
