AASCU member Sam Houston State University’s (Texas) Center for Assessment, Research, and Educational Safety (CARES) is inviting higher education leaders across the U.S. to participate in a research study related to institutional responses to COVID-19.
The project, Higher Education Leaders Learning from COVID-19 Response, will use a crowdsourcing data collection method (IdeaScale) to examine decision-making processes and ideas for responding to the COVID-19 pandemic. The ideas and suggestions collected by CARES will help its researchers create guidelines for the current and future pandemic responses in higher education. The data collection process should last for at least a year.
IdeaScale community by creating a profile to gain access to the data collection tool. During the profile setup process, there is a “Hide My Identity” option at the bottom to allow your posts and comments to remain confidential, if you would like. You can also choose to make only specific posts or comment confidential.
Once a member, you can post ideas as well as comment and vote on ideas from other community members. The community has seven categories, called campaigns, and the center encourages you to share all of your ideas in each of these different areas and others that emerge.
Your support will ensure the higher education community can learn from COVID-19 and plan for future crises and pandemics. If you have any questions about this study, please
contact the center.
