    AASCU’s academic affairs-related programming, led by the Division of Academic Innovation and Transformation, supports member institutions in their mission to prepare students to lead productive and fulfilling lives. Driven by an understanding that today’s colleges and universities need to prepare students for work, life and citizenship in local, national and global contexts, our programming focuses on four key areas: civic engagement, international education, student success and teacher education.

    Civic Engagement – The American Democracy Project

    The cornerstone of AASCU’s civic engagement work is the American Democracy Project. Founded in 2003, the goal of the American Democracy Project is to produce college and university graduates who are committed to being informed, engaged members of their communities. 

    International Education

    AASCU’s Office of International Education supports member institutions in their efforts to prepare students for work, life and citizenship in an increasingly globalized world. Working with partners from across the world, the Office of International Education focuses on providing quality services to members in three key areas: professional development, program development, and partnerships and outreach.

    Student Success

    AASCU’s Student Success programs are dedicated to promoting student success through the use of evidence-based solutions and interventions. By fostering a cooperative community of learning, our programs bring together campus teams from across the country to share knowledge about programs and practices that advance student success.

    Teacher Education

    AASCU supports member institutions in their efforts to offer high quality teacher education programs by working with partner organizations on a variety of policy-related issues, recognizing exemplary teacher education programs, and serving as a valuable resource for administrators and faculty members.
