2021 Summer Council

Tuesday, June 29, 2021 to Wednesday, June 30, 2021
Virtual
Reflect, Recharge, Reboot: Leading Resilient Institutions
Join us for the virtual Summer Council meeting—open to presidents/chancellors, spouses/partners, and senior cabinet members.
Summer Council has long been an AASCU tradition where campus leaders can come together to connect, strengthen our community, share successes and challenges, and focus on personal and professional development. This year, we will gather virtually, but AASCU’s commitment to create a dynamic, engaging, and relevant experience remains the same.
The meeting will include a variety of professional development and networking opportunities:
- Inspiring general sessions focused on resilience, courage, equity and student success, and hope
- Engaging roundtables for participants to reflect, network, share best practices, and connect with thought leaders around topics such as faculty and staff burnout, enrollment and budgetary challenges, debates over civil discourse on our campuses, and the ongoing skepticism about the value of a college degree
- Robust concurrent sessions focused on skill building in areas such as navigating change, leading transformational cabinets, and courageous leadership
- Numerous opportunities for you to meet one-on-one or in small groups with old friends or new colleagues to reflect, recharge, and reboot for the year ahead
Our virtual format will allow participants to attend safely and at a lower cost.
The Summer Council is planned by the AASCU Committee for Professional Development with support from AASCU staff.
