Programs authorized under Title III, Part F of the Higher Education Act are intended to assist Minority-Serving Institutions fulfill their mission of serving underrepresented students. Funding for these programs is set to expire this fiscal year and Congress must act quickly to ensure that the critical STEM-related infrastructure and programs MSIs use these dollars for are not disrupted. I urge the Senate to avoid partisan gridlock by attaching unrelated or nongermane provisions to what should be a simple and noncontroversial extension of a much-needed set of programs. A clean bill to extend funding is and ought to be attainable.
