About the China Studies Institute
The China Studies Institute (CSI) Zhi-Xing China Academic Impact Fellowship Program allows faculty to learn from scholars and education administrators about Chinese civilization, history, language, business and education. The institute encourages participants to develop strategies for incorporating Chinese studies into courses on their campuses.
Typically, CSI involves three weeks of intensive seminars, lectures, site visits and cultural activities in China. Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, AASCU canceled the in-person 2020 CSI program. However, we have worked with our partner organization to provide a series of free webinars covering several key topics that have been popular with CSI participants.
About the Webinar Series
The CSI webinar series will include lectures by Chinese professors that focus on Chinese history and philosophy, the Chinese language, and Chinese traditional medicine. They will also feature CSI alumni experiences of building connections and partnerships in China.
The webinars will include an open Q&A discussion with participants, panelists, and AASCU staff. AASCU members are welcome to join for any or all of the five-part webinar series, which will take place from July 14–October 8.
