Markya Reed is an educator, data analyst, and student affairs professional. She works for Johns Hopkins’ Center for Social Concern, is a PhD student at Morgan State, and serves as a Student Design Fellow with Campus Compact. Markya uses student data to re-imagine metrics and student learning outcomes for co-curricular programs. She converts raw data into dynamic visualizations to document ‘civic stories’ on campus and works alongside students to highlight civic engagement as a pathway for change. Markya’s research focus is the relationship between identity, speech, expression, and school climate.
