Alison N. Nooks is the spouse of Kirk A. Nooks, former president of Gordon State College (GA). Nooks is also the online academic program coordinator for Middle Georgia State University’s School of Arts & Letters (SOAL), where she provides training and support for online teaching and works on a range of special projects. She joined Middle Georgia State University’s Department of Media, Culture, and the Arts in August 2019, where she teaches media and communication. Nooks has more than 22 years of experience in higher education, with additional years working in government and industry. She also serves as the Affordable Learning Georgia (ALG) Design Champion for Middle Georgia State University. Nooks has had an opportunity to work on a several unique initiatives over her career using her skills in communication, marketing, graphic design, event planning, and project management. She has presented at several conferences, including the Chair Academy’s International Leadership Conference, D2L Connection: Worldwide, and the Teaching Matters Conference. Nooks is currently writing a children’s book and serves as co-creator and organizer of the SOAL Collective Action Series. Nooks received her B.B.A. and MBA from Mercer University (GA) and an M.A. in public communication from American University (DC).
