Leadership Development Program Endorsement Form

Endorse candidates for the Becoming a Provost Academy, Emerging Leaders Program, Executive Leadership Academy, and Millennium Leadership Initiative.

The deadline for applications and endorsements is February 9, 2026.

Candidates will be informed of their acceptance status by March 31.

You may endorse more than one candidate; please submit a new form for each person.

Please only submit endorsement(s) for applicants from your own institution. Please note the following endorsement requirements in order for a candidate’s submission to be considered complete. Endorsements must be submitted as follows:

BAPA: Endorsement from the president/chancellor or provost
ELP: Endorsement from the president/chancellor or cabinet-level administrator
ELA: Endorsement from the president/chancellor
MLI: Endorsement from the president/chancellor

After you complete this form, both you and the candidate will receive confirmation that the endorsement was submitted. The candidate will receive a confirmation email once their submission is complete (this may take 2-3 business days after submitting application and endorsement).

Due to volume, AASCU is unable to accept application and endorsement materials outside of this form.

Becoming a Provost Academy (BAPA): for experienced deans, assistant or associate provosts, and other academic affairs senior administrators who aspire to become a provost. Preference is given to candidates from AASCU member institutions. → More information.

Emerging Leaders Program (ELP): for academic and administrative professionals who are exploring opportunities to advance to higher administrative positions. Preference is given to candidates from AASCU member institutions and regional public universities. → More information.

Executive Leadership Academy (ELA): forcampus leaders and cabinet-level officers aspiring to presidencies and other senior executive positions. → More information.

Millennium Leadership Initiative (MLI): for vice presidents and cabinet-level officers who are exploring and/or preparing for a college presidency. MLI candidates are typically one to two career advancements away from becoming a college or university president. → More information.

Programming will be delivered in a blended format, with in-person and virtual programming. In-person programming will not be livestreamed or otherwise recorded. 100% attendance and participation is expected.

Academic Affairs Summer Meeting (July 14-16, 2026, Indianapolis, IN)
Opening Seminar (June 17-18, 2026, Washington, DC)
Regularly scheduled virtual workshops (August 2026 – June 2027)
Closing Seminar (July 2027, Location TBD

ELP Program Format and Timeline

Programming will be a blended experience, with in-person and virtual programming. In-person programming will not be livestreamed or otherwise recorded. 100% attendance and participation is expected. Virtual programming will take place on select Wednesdays and Fridays between 3 and 5 p.m. ET (exact dates TBD).

An intensive in-person program at AASCU’s Washington, D.C. office (June 23–25, 2026)
Up to 12 interactive 60-to 120-minute interactive virtual sessions (August–December 2026)
A project or initiative the participant leads on their home campus

In-person programming will not be livestreamed or otherwise recorded. 100% attendance and participation is expected. Virtual programming will take place on select Tuesdays between 3 and 5 p.m. ET (exact dates TBD).

Two in-person seminars in Washington, DC (June 10-13, 2026 and March 10-12, 2027)
Up to 6 interactive 60- to 120-minute virtual sessions–select Tuesdays between 3 and 5 p.m. ET between August 2026 and March 2027 (exact dates TBA)
Consultations with executive coach (July 2026- October 2026)
Mentoring with current AASCU presidents and chancellors (September 2026–March 2027)
Consultations with MLI President in Residence (September 2026-February 2027)
