WASHINGTON, January 28, 2025 – “We are deeply concerned how these actions may negatively impact student success and the ability of our institutions to continue to deliver educational programs and services.
It’s still very early in the process with fluid and uncertain information available at this time. Much is still unknown, but we are analyzing the potential impact to regional public universities.
The American Association of State Colleges and Universities will continue to closely monitor developments from the administration regarding the pausing of all grant and loan disbursements.”
NOTE:
On the afternoon of Jan. 28, a federal judge delayed the Office of Management and Budget from pausing all grant and loan disbursements scheduled to take effect. “A brief administrative stay” preserves federal disbursements until at least Monday, Feb. 3 at 5 p.m. ET.
On Jan. 29, the White House announced it had rescinded the Office of Management and Budget’s (OMB) pause on all grant and loan disbursements.
