Andrés Quintanilla is passionate about ensuring our higher education systems create equitable opportunities for all students and the institutions that serve them. Most recently, he served as the Associate Director of Holistic Student Supports at Achieving the Dream (ATD). In this role, he supported community colleges as they worked to become more student centered. He also served as the direct point of contact for ATD in the Advising Success Network, working in partnership with colleagues at AASCU. Prior to ATD he served in roles at the Institute for Higher Education Policy (IHEP) and Excelencia in Education. Andrés has worked on various projects including sharing best practices, supporting MSIs, adult reengagement strategies, holistic advising, and others through a racial and socioeconomic equity mindset. He looks forward to continuing to learn about the different ways we can all support student success.

Andrés grew up in Prince George’s County, Maryland. He is an avid D.C. sports fan and a proud son of immigrants from El Salvador and Honduras. He has a M.A. in Higher Education Administration from The George Washington University and a B.A. in Criminology and Criminal Justice from University of Maryland, College Park.
