Andrew Koricich

Andrew Koricich is the executive director of the Alliance for Research on Regional Colleges and professor of higher education and student affairs at Appalachian State University (NC). He is a leading national expert on rural students and rural-serving postsecondary institutions, and on the connections between rural communities and postsecondary education. Koricich has secured nearly $8 million in external research funding, including leading the Rural Talent Development and Attraction Lab, which is funded by a $7.2 million grant from Ascendium Education Group. His expertise has been featured in numerous media outlets within and beyond higher education, on podcasts, and on NPR programs such as “On Point.”
Koricich holds a bachelor’s degree in information sciences and technology and a Ph.D. in higher education from Pennsylvania State University, as well as an MBA from Johns Hopkins University (MD).
