Brian Bedford

A collaborative leader, inspirational visionary, and transformational change agent with more than 20 years of experience demonstrating leadership within multiple environments including private and nonprofit sectors as well as higher education, Brian Bedford is well known for developing an inspiring strategic vision, practicing equity-minded leadership, and leveraging his comprehensive acumen in complex and ambiguous work environments to achieve desired outcomes. Bedford is currently the associate dean of strategic initiatives at California State University, Sacramento. Regarded as a strategist, his primary focus is leading regional strategic initiatives and key programs with an equity-centric approach. Bedford earned his Doctor of Education at the University of the Pacific with a focus on leadership and innovation. His research concentrated on key factors beyond race that contribute to the absence of the Black male from the executive suite, operationalizing equity in the workplace, and innovative solutions to increase diverse representation.
