Edmund Lee
Editor, Trust
The New York Times
Ed Lee is an editor on The New York Times‘s trust team, which looks for ways to better explain The Times to readers, and, more generally, how journalism works. Trust in news has declined over the years, and continues to decline, partly because people have become less aware of how newsrooms operate. The onslaught of digital media from podcasting to video to social media and beyond has at once expanded and distorted our sense of the news. The Trust team seeks to address these modern challenges.
Ed served as a media reporter for more than a decade and a journalist for nearly 30 years before assuming this new role with The Times.
