Jay Johnson

Jay Johnson is the associate provost for academic operations and development at Northwest Missouri State University. He oversees the Registrar’s office, Career Services, Northwest-Kansas City, Dual Credit, the Small Business Development Center, Continuing Professional Education, and the annual Academic Program Review. He also serves as the university’s Higher Learning Commission accreditation liaison officer and leads/participates in a number of other institutional and statewide projects and functions related to academics, enrollment management, and compliance. Johnson has served in both public and private higher education institutions—two year and four year—as a business instructor, associate professor of business, a dean, and multiple other leadership roles. Prior to his 20-year career in higher education, Johnson ran his family farm in rural northern Missouri, which is still in operation. Johnson holds an Ed.D. in educational leadership from the University of Missouri-Columbia, an MBA from William Woods University (MO), and a B.A. in marketing from Truman State University (MO).
