Lara Lomicka Anderson

Lara Lomicka Anderson currently serves as vice provost and dean of undergraduate studies at the University of South Carolina. She oversees the University Advising Center, the Center for Integrated and Experiential Learning, the Graduate and Retention Network, and the faculty directors of living learning communities. She holds the Jessie Chapman Alcorn Memorial Professorship, is a professor of French and applied linguistics, is a Chevalier dans l’ordre des palmes académiques, and has served as president of national organizations in her field: the Computer-Assisted Language Instruction Consortium, the National Federation of Modern Language Teachers Associations, and the American Association of University Supervisors, Coordinators, and Directors of Language Programs. She is associate editor for Language Learning & Technology and JALT-CALL. She has published widely in reputable venues and has co-edited two books on technology and language learning, an edited special issue of Language Learning & Technology (2023) and The Faculty Factor (2023), which explores the roles of faculty in residential learning communities. She regularly conducts workshops, consults with language programs, and gives talks on technology in language teaching throughout the United States and internationally.
