Laura Boren has been in higher education student affairs and enrollment management field for over 26 years. She started her journey in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at Northeastern State University (NSU) as a new professional in student activities. Taking on new challenges and pushing for continuous improvement is Dr. Boren’s mode of operation. Experience has taught her that investing in people, providing resources and clear expectations, and fostering an environment that empowers innovation is the path to success. A few of her interesting pride points are serving as the advisor to Texas A&M University (TAMU) Fish Camp, teaching graduate courses in higher education administration at Tarleton State University (TSU), and strategically increasing student retention at Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW). Lessons Dr. Boren learned in her time at NSU and TAMU opened the door for her to serve as a vice president at NSU, TSU and executive vice president at GSW. Her supervision portfolio includes residence life, student activities, student government, Greek life, student conduct, counseling and health services, orientation, first-year experience, financial aid, admissions and recruitment. Dr. Boren is a two-time graduate of Northeastern State University in Business Administration and College Student Personnel Services. She earned her Ph.D. from Texas A&M University in Higher Education Administration.
