Mari Fuentes-Martin

Mari Fuentes-Martin currently serves as San Jose State University’s (CA) vice president for student affairs. She has more than 33 years of experience in higher education, serving as an associate vice president and dean of students at various institutions for more than 20 years. Before coming to San Jose State University, Fuentes-Martin was vice president for student success and engagement at Texas A&M University-San Antonio. She has worked at various Hispanic-serving institutions throughout South Texas, including community colleges and comprehensive universities, for more than 25 years of her career. She began her career at her alma mater, the University of Notre Dame (IN), where she earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees, working in alumni affairs and student affairs. She earned her doctorate in educational leadership from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.
