Benjamin Frederick has led advocacy efforts at Memorial Healthcare, an independent community hospital, since January 2023. In this role, he represents the hospital’s interests in the community and at the state and federal levels working to develop partnerships and craft policies that promote access to high-quality health care, proper reimbursement levels, and more common-sense regulation.
Frederick previously served three terms as a Michigan state representative for Shiawassee County and portions of Saginaw County. During that time, he served as House majority floor leader, the second-ranking member of the House charged with establishing rules of decorum and setting the agenda for the chamber. He was also chairman of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Higher Education and Community Colleges, promoting postsecondary attainment with a particular focus on nontraditional and first-generation students. Previously, he served on numerous policy committees including leading the House Workforce and Talent Development Committee.
Frederick earned a bachelor’s degree from Liberty University (VA) and a master’s degree in management and leadership from Western Governors University (UT).
