Passionate about civic engagement, Abdullah Aljanabi has actively led initiatives at Macomb Community College (MI). As the current democracy fellow, Aljanabi is engaged in projects such as the Civic Engagement Alliance, where he serves as president. Through this role, he focuses on registering students to vote and educating them about the electoral process. Aljanabi collaborates with campus faculty and admin alongside local officials to enhance student understanding of civic responsibilities and achieve a long-lasting legacy of informed voters on campus. His contributions extend to the Michigan Department of State’s Collegiate Student Advisory Task Force, where he helps shape statewide student efforts to promote civic participation and break voting barriers among a task force of student leaders. Aljanabi’s commitment and leadership have earned praise from colleagues and highlighted Macomb’s tradition of civic engagement. For the future, Aljanabi aspires to pursue a Juris Doctor to embark on his journey of being an attorney.
