About Robert S. Prezant
Robert S. Prezant, PhD, is the incoming president of Farmingdale State College (SUNY), coming from Southern Connecticut State University where he served as provost and vice president for academic affairs. Previous roles included dean of the College of Science and Mathematics at Montclair State University, dean of the Division of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at Queens College (CUNY), and chair of the biology department at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
He has generated over $20 million in funding to support research and academic programs including a $3.2 million NSF Alliance for Minority Participation grant. His administrative efforts have resulted in the development and enhancement of new degree programs, several centers and institutes, online and on-ground education programs, corporate partnerships, and several global affiliations.
Dr. Prezant holds a PhD in marine biology from the University of Delaware, an MS in biology from Northeastern University, and a BA in biology from Adelphi University.
