Spouse/Partner Virtual Meetup:

Pastry & Conversation: A Sweet Virtual Gathering

Discover the perfect blend of conversation and cuisine in this engaging virtual session.

Together, we’ll connect over pastry-making while exploring how culinary traditions can enrich and support our diverse experiences as spouses and partners. We’ll kick things off with introductions before diving into a guided pastry-making experience. Whether you’re ready to roll up your sleeves and bake along, or simply want to enjoy the discussion, all are welcome. Participants will receive ingredient and equipment details in advance to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience from start to finish.

The experience will be led by our own spouse/partner member, Darin Tandberg. Darin is a professionally trained pastry chef who’s always loved baking for family and friends. In 2018, she earned her diploma in Pastry Arts from the Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts in Boulder, Colorado. Since then, she’s worked in several bakeries, as a chocolatier, and run her own custom baking business from home. Now, as the spouse of a university president, she enjoys using her baking skills to make desserts for university events and dinners hosted at their home.

“Our virtual meetups are designed as an opportunity for AASCU Spouse/Partners to talk with one another in an informal setting which allows for getting to know one another and engaging in conversation about our shared experiences and interests. Through sessions like these is where I’ve been able to forge relationships and engage with others who have become trusted resources and friends.”
