Paul J. LeBlanc is president of Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) and author of Students First: Equity, Access, and Opportunity in Higher Education and Broken: How Our Social Systems Are Failing Us. In the 18 years under LeBlanc’s direction, SNHU has grown from 10,000 students to more than 175,000 learners and is the largest nonprofit provider of online higher education in the country. LeBlanc immigrated to the United States as a child and was the first person in his extended family to attend college. Before becoming president of SNHU, he directed a technology startup for Houghton Mifflin Publishing Company from 1993–1996 and was president of Marlboro College (VT) from 1996–2003. He received his B.A. from Framingham State University (MA), his M.A. from Boston College (MA), and his Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts.
