The forum hosted representatives and speakers from more than 170 Chinese and American universities on the platform of Sino-American Cooperation of Higher Education and Professional Development (CHEPD) 1 +2+1 Program. The theme of the forum focused on linking education and research to regional workforce development. Forty-two U.S. university presidents, provosts, senior international officers, and coordinators attended the forum virtually.

Julie Whitlow, vice provost for global engagement at Salem State University (MA), co-hosted the event with Zhang Jing, director of China Center for International Educational Exchange (CCIEE).

AASCU President Mildred García delivered opening remarks on behalf of AASCU.

“AASCU is dedicated to facilitating internationalization by assisting member institutions in strengthening the internalization of our campuses and preparing the students to be engaged global citizens through high-quality programs and services,” Garcia said.
