University of South Alabama’s Visit to AASCU and Embassies in DC area

AASCU’s Global Initiatives staff hosted Richard W. Carter, associate vice president for Global Engagement and Bri Ard, executive director of Global Engagement from the University of South Alabama, during their visit to the Washington International Education Conference.

AASCU worked with the university on their China-related programming, based on their interest in the CHEPD 1+2+1 program. AASCU provided a general information session to expand their global learning offerings and visited the following embassies to discuss collaborations in STEM, community, and workforce development:

  • Embassy of the People’s Republic of China – Qianye Yang (Third Secretary) and Yiwei Fang (Education Attaché)
  • Embassy of India –  Aditi Walunj, First Secretary (Culture and Education) and discussed the collaboration with Indian institutions in STEM disciplines and possible embassy visits to USA.
  • Embassy of France – Vincent Michelot (Attaché for Higher Education),  Natalie Cox (Deputy Director, Campus France USA) and Celina Jaffe (Educational Affairs Program Officer)
