Damian Zavala

Damian Zavala is the associate vice president of health and wellness at California State University, Long Beach. In this role, he is responsible for providing leadership for campus-wide health equity, mental health promotion, and inclusive well-being initiatives to increase students’ access to culturally sensitive health care and to enhance the quality of campus life for all students. Damian is also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California with many years of clinical practice experience, as well as high-level leadership experience in health care and behavioral health. He is a proud product of the California State University System with master’s degrees in social work, with an emphasis in health, mental health, and public administration.
