As director of academic initiatives, Mike Whitenton empowers faculty nationwide to cultivate pluralism in their classrooms and on their campuses. Before joining the team at Interfaith America, he spent 10 years at Baylor University (TX) as a faculty member, designing and teaching courses on interfaith cooperation, bridgebuilding, civic engagement, and religion. Whitenton also co-founded Baylor’s Bridgebuilding Fellows Program, which equips both faculty and students to advance civic pluralism. Whitenton is also a widely published scholar of ancient Christianity (Ph.D., Baylor), specializing in the impact of Jesus narratives on ancient audiences.
