University of West Alabama

Tim Edwards serves as provost of the University of West Alabama (UWA). He was promoted to the office as interim provost in March 2014 and named provost in March 2015. Prior to his appointment as provost, Edwards was the dean of the College of Liberal Arts from 2009 to 2014 and served as chairperson of the Department of Languages and Literature from 2007 to 2009. He holds a B.A. and an M.A. in English from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a Ph.D. in English from the University of Tennessee. Prior to his arrival at UWA, he taught at the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville, Arkansas, and at Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus, Georgia.
